This is very local cultural activity in Maek Lang Loung Temple. Many villagers around Maek Lang Loung come here for celebrate for Buddhist monk after staying in pagoda three months (Choul Vorsa). They offer clothes and food to monks. Local people called Kakthin.
The kakthin celebration is very unique art of culture of Buddhism. All Theravada believers, they always celebrate for monks who have devoted their time and their commitment to stay three months in Pagoda.
The most important we can learn and share each other in term of local people are charitable activities and team work. Indigenous people not only believe in the buddha but also believe in the dragon. They think God of forest give them security, peace, purity, integrity and prosperity of life. Honestly, Ban Maek lang Loung indigenous people are kind, friendly and helpful.
